Day 01
COLOMBO AIRPORT/ NEGOMBO
Arrival at Colombo Airport in the vicinity of Negombo, often referred to as the “Little Rome” of Sri Lanka. Negombo is a renowned tourist beach resort. Main occupation is the fishing industry.
Dinner & overnight at hotel.
Day 02
NEGOMBO/ SIGIRIYA/ KAUDULLA
After early breakfast leave for Sigiriya declared as the 8th wonder of the ancient world.
Dinner & camping – Kaudulla.
Day 03
KAUDULLA/ KANDY
After breakfast leave for Kandy, the last Kingdom in Sri Lanka. Kandy encircles the longest river Mahaweli, surrounded by a ring of mountains. Kandyan kingdom was ceded to the British in 1815. The holiest of holy place for Buddhists the world over is the Temple of the Tooth. In the month of July the world famous “Kandy Perahera” or the temple procession is held at night. A visit to the Temple of the Tooth and witness the Cultural Show including Fire Walking. Dinner & overnight at hotel.
Day 04
KANDY
After early breakfast, Trekking in Knuckles Range with a visit to Corbett’s gap. In the afternoon a visit to Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya.
Dinner & overnight at Eco-lodge Digana Camp.
Day 05
KANDY/ NUWARA-ELIYA
After breakfast leave for Nuwara-Eliya visiting a Tea Factory and a Tea Plantation. Nuwara-Eliya is known as the “City of Lights”. Among the attractions are Nature hikes, Golf, Horse riding, boating etc. City tour in the evening.
Dinner & overnight at your hotel.
Day 06
NUWARA-ELIYA
After breakfast full-day visit to Horton Plains tracking to World’s End.
Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 07
NUWARA-ELIYA/ KITULGALA
After early breakfast leave for Kitulgala. Descend from Nuwara-Eliya hills to Kitulgala where you meet the 2nd longest river “Kelani” in Sri Lanka. En-route view the dazzling beauty of Devon falls & St. Clair’s (broadest waterfall in Sri Lanka). Kitulgala is symbolic with the award winning film “Bridge on the river Kwai” & white water rafting. Mountain Biking, Trekking and Bird watching optional. Dinner & overnight at Kitulgala Camp site.
Day 08
KITULGALA/ BENTOTA OR KALUTARA
After breakfast leave for Galle. A visit the Dutch Fort – the worlds best preserved Dutch fort. On the way to Bentota/ Kalutara visit a Mask Factory and a Turtle Hatchery. Dinner & overnight at hotel.
Day 09
BENTOTA OR KALUTARA TO COLOMBO/ AIRPORT
After late breakfast leave for Colombo. City tour of Colombo with a visit to a Buddhist temple & a Hindu temple. After dinner at a restaurant proceed to Airport for departure.
